Short Wedding Hairstyles for a Radiantly Beautiful Bride

Are you having trouble finding short wedding hairstyles? Read about three easy short wedding hairstyles that can look fantastic on your big day.

As you leaf through a stack of bridal magazines looking for short wedding hairstyles, you sigh. Almost all of the glossy photos reveal super-smiling models with long, rippling tresses. Chignons, pinned-up ringlets, long waves – the looks are all the same. Can a bride keep her hair short and still look like a bride? Before you give up your personal identity, there’s some good news for you: Short wedding hairstyles can look dazzling and even much better than the status quo hairstyles.

The following are some short wedding hairstyles that look glamorous on any bride:

  • A very striking bob with lightly curled ends and a side part is a particularly appealing option for brides with straight hair, while a pixie cut looks excellent on a bride with small or fine facial features. Both of these short wedding hairstyles can be dressed up with pearl pins, a rhinestone tiara, an exotic flower such as an orchid, or, naturally, a wedding veil.
  • Take a tip from the red carpet: Movie stars and other celebrities with short hair often opt for a wet, slicked-back look. Short wedding hairstyles do not always have to look properly dry or curled! If you’re tempted to style your own wet look, however, don’t – the end result may look home-made. It’s better to put this slicked-back image into the hands of a professional hairdresser.
  • Twisting small sections of hair at the crown of the head and clipping them in place with tiny gem magnets also creates some alluring short wedding hairstyles. The twists can be changed to knots for a look with a slightly different feel, perhaps more appropriate for a day wedding.
  • No matter which option you select, remember to have a practice session with your hairdresser a few weeks in advance of the big day. In fact, if your mind is not totally made up, it doesn’t hurt to try different short wedding hairstyles months in advance. Take along a friend with a digital camera. If your hairdresser gives you permission, your friend can take photos of your head from different angles, giving you the chance to later browse your looks unhurriedly and decide which looks the best on you in combination with your dress.

And always remember: Your short wedding hairstyle may be fantastic, but what will make you the most beautiful on your wedding day is a happy, satisfied heart.
